Our Story
It was my birthday, and instead of the usual celebration, I decided to do something different. I wanted to give back to those who needed it most, so I visited an orphanage. I brought food for the children, excited to share this special day with them. The food was served on plastic-coated paper plates—something simple and convenient, or so I thought.
As the children eagerly ate, one of them accidentally swallowed a small piece of the torn plastic coating from the plate. Panic ensued as the child began choking, and we had to rush them to the hospital. Thankfully, the child recovered, but the incident left a lasting impact on me. I couldn't shake the thought of how a simple, everyday item like a plastic-coated plate could endanger a life.
That moment sparked a deep desire to make a change. I realized how deeply single-use plastics were ingrained in our daily lives, and how harmful they were not only to the environment but also to people. It became clear to me that there had to be a better, safer alternative—one that didn'tcompromise on convenience or safety.
And so, the journey of DVAS began. I set out to create a sustainable solution by manufacturing cutlery and plates made from Areca palm leaves. Natural, biodegradable, and safe for both people and the planet. We pride ourselves on providing a recyclable alternative that does not just reduce plastic waste, but also ensures that the products are safe and nurturing for everyone who uses them.What started as a personal experience that could have been tragic has now turned into a mission to make a real difference. The incident at the orphanage taught me a vital lesson: that sometimes, it takes just one moment to inspire change, and that change can lead to something bigger than we ever imagined.

The manufacturing process of Areca palm leaf tableware begins with the collection of raw materials. Fallen Areca palm leaves are gathered from trees, ensuring no harm to the environment. These leaves are then thoroughly cleaned and refined to remove any dirt, debris, or impurities. Next, the refined leaves undergo a machining process where they are carefully cut and shaped to create uniform pieces. The leaves are then melded into the desired shape of plates, bowls, or other tableware using high-quality, eco-friendly methods.
Once shaped, the tableware is sterilized and undergoes a final finishing process to ensure smoothness and durability. Afterward, the products are vacuum-packed to preserve their quality, ensuring they remain fresh and free from contaminants during storage and transport. Finally, the finished Areca palm leaf tableware is distributed globally, providing sustainable, biodegradable alternatives to plastic and harmful materials.
